What is mind-body coaching & bodywork?
Mind-body coaching & bodywork offers a bottom-up approach to holistic therapy.
blends Western psychology, ancient bodywork practices, NLP, tantric philosophy, shamanism and body psychotherapy, skilfully woven through the intuitive touch of the practitioner in response to the expressions of the body from moment to moment.
it offers the deepest dive into exploring bodywork and is often the easiest access point for people to drop out of the thinking mind and into the body. Going inwards in this way opens the door to reconnecting with aspects of the self - such as emotions, memories, core beliefs - which allows a more whole/integrated sense of self when these aspects are felt/seen/heard/expressed. They also contain the keys/wisdom for the growth and change we seek to create what we need and desire in life.
Alternatively, the mind-body therapy is more talk-based, which offers the opportunity to unpack relational issues and create a plan moving forward, while also drawing on principles of body psychotherapy and can include some table work. I always bring some body-based exercises into the session which are designed to strengthen the awareness and connection to the body and inner wisdom/knowing.
Bodywork can support a reconnection with emotions that have built up in the body and allow a container for emotions, sensations and thoughts to bubble up to the surface to be expressed and heard. Bodywork won't rid any emotions in the body but rather allows the emotion to be metabolised and integrated into our system by welcoming these emotions to be felt and revealing the personal needs, truths and wisdom underlying these emotions to move forward in your life making the most aligned and healthy choices available to you.
Often a deeply healing aspect of bodywork is to have this pain witnessed and held by a fellow human too - it can allow us to be held in our vulnerability and not be alone in our pain. This aspect might be particularly helpful for you during a period of overwhelm and a concern of becoming destabilised - it's already a feat you've come this far in your journey achieving this by yourself - we are a social species though and wired for connection and we all deserve and need support to walk through the ups and downs of life.

What is integrative bodywork?

The mind-body connection describes how our mind and body are not two separate entities; rather, they are intimately entwined. Our biology, chemistry and social factors impact our mood and emotions, and so do our thoughts and beliefs. If you have had racing thoughts keeping you awake at night or the flutter of anxiety in your stomach, you’ve experienced the mind-body connection. When thoughts are repeated enough, they become unconscious thinking patterns that subliminally drive our choices, behaviour, experiences and emotions in life, creating a looping effect where life appears unchanging and out of our control.
Integrative bodywork blends mind-body coaching with body-centred techniques, such as massage, movement, breath, and energy practices, to promote healing and vitality. It supports people to understand and experience the way our thoughts, emotions, sensations and behaviours are interrelated and affect our physical and emotional health.
Devotional Yin bodywork blends a range of modalities and is tailored to the intentions and needs of the client. For example, if a client is needing an emotional release, the session would work with tension and holding patterns in the body, through massage, breathing patterns and guided dialogue. This can support a reconnection with the underlying emotions, sensations and thoughts to be metabolised and integrated back into our system with a greater sense of wholeness. By welcoming these aspects to be felt and heard, we reveal the personal needs, truths and wisdom underlying these emotions to move forward in life making the most aligned and healthy choices available to us.
Integrative Bodywork and Stress
These repetitive thought patterns often activate people into a fight-or-flight stress response, where the body and mind feel constantly wired and tense. As a result, it becomes difficult to access the much needed repair and restoration benefits of relaxation (i.e., the parasympathetic system which aids in rest, digest, heal and detoxify processes). No healing or regeneration takes place during nervous system responses like fight, flight or freeze. We can only heal when our relaxation response is activated. Chronic stress and lowered immunity are thus common outcomes of prolonged imbalances in the mind and body.
Integrative bodywork can support people to relearn how to notice and identify what state their nervous system is in at any given moment. It also addresses a common barrier to activating the parasympathetic system, which is that we often try to launch straight into, and force, relaxation without initially discharging the built up energy and tension. Integrative bodywork applies a range of techniques to create the conditions to regulate the nervous system and open into relaxation.

As a guide, $140 as a basic honouring of my time and cost of oils/utilities/linen. For those experiencing financial hardship and/or from lower socio-economic backgrounds and/or with extra care responsibilities.
